Andratx is the historic main town of the municipality of the same name in Mallorca's far southwest — an established town in the valley between the foothills of the Tramuntana and the sea, a few minutes' drive from the harbour of Port d'Andratx. Here you will find what has become rare at the port: traditional townhouses with patios, fincas with olive groves and plots with mountain views in quiet settings.

The centre of Andratx gathers around the parish church of Santa Maria and the lanes below it, overlooked by the Castell de Son Mas, which today houses the town hall. This is where you find the townhouses with patio and roof terrace, some carefully restored, others with the bones for a renovation of your own. The Wednesday market, the CCA Andratx art centre with its exhibitions and the cafés around the square give the town an everyday life that does not depend on tourism.
If you want to buy a village house in Andratx, you will find layouts and gardens of a kind the harbour no longer offers.
Beyond the centre the valley opens towards S'Arracó and Sant Elm, where fincas with olive, almond and carob trees sit between dry-stone walls. On the slopes above the town, villas are being built with views of the Tramuntana foothills and, from the higher positions, out to sea. Building plots are still available in Andratx, often with mountain views and in quiet spots.
Planning rules in the countryside are strict, which protects the character of the landscape and makes existing fincas with approved buildings correspondingly sought after. From Sant Elm you look across to the island of Sa Dragonera, whose nature reserve is a day trip for the whole municipality.
Andratx combines calm with short distances. The harbour with its yacht club and restaurants is five minutes' drive away, the coves of Camp de Mar with the Golf de Andratx course around ten, and Peguera with its beaches and shopping street barely further. The Ma-1 motorway starts practically at the edge of town and brings you to Palma in around 30 minutes and to the airport in about 40.
The town suits buyers who prefer authenticity and calm to harbour glamour: families looking for a main residence, couples who want a house with a garden rather than an apartment, and anyone planning to build a plot to their own design.
DC Finest is based in the municipality and brokers fincas, townhouses and building plots in Andratx, often from its off-market portfolio. Here in particular, many properties are never advertised but passed on within the town — owners come to us because they want to keep a sale discreet.
If you are looking for a specific profile, say a finca with its own well or a village house with a garage, register a property search request; we will get in touch as soon as a matching property becomes available in town or elsewhere in southwest Mallorca.
