Peguera — Paguera in Spanish — is the lively coastal town between Santa Ponsa and Camp de Mar: three sandy beaches — Palmira, Torà and La Romana — a traffic-calmed boulevard of restaurants and shops, and an infrastructure that works in winter too. Besides sea-view apartments in town, it is above all the villas in Cala Fornells and on the hillsides above that discerning buyers look for.

Peguera is not one market but several. Around the boulevard and the Palmira and Torà beaches, apartments dominate — from simple holiday flats to modernised frontline units with sea views. West of town lies Cala Fornells, a small wooded cove with a few hotels and rocky access to the sea; this is villa and estate territory, and supply is at its scarcest here. In between lies the small La Romana beach, the quietest of the three. On the slopes above the main road are the villa streets with views over the bay, alongside terraced and semi-detached houses in manageable developments. To the east, Peguera merges almost seamlessly into Costa de la Calma, where things become quieter and greener.
Peguera has been a fixture for German-speaking buyers for decades — as a second home with everything within walking distance, and as a home for retirement, with doctors, pharmacies and restaurants on the doorstep. Unlike many coastal resorts, Peguera does not shut down in winter: restaurants, supermarkets and cafés along the boulevard stay open, and Torà beach is worth a walk even in January. Golf de Andratx and the beach at Camp de Mar are a few minutes away, as are the golf courses of Santa Ponsa. Via the Ma-1 motorway, Palma is around 25 minutes by car and the airport around 35; bus routes to Palma and Andratx stop right in town.
Anyone looking to buy an apartment in Peguera has one of the widest choices in Mallorca's southwest; anyone after a villa needs patience — the good houses in Cala Fornells and on the hillsides come up rarely and often without a public listing. DC Finest knows the difference between the boulevard, Cala Fornells and the villa streets and advises you accordingly, including how Peguera compares with its neighbours — tell us whether sea views, walking distance to the beach or a quiet hillside plot matter most to you. With a property search request you hear about suitable properties before they are widely marketed.
